The power of camps like GLOW lies in the ideas that take root and are taken back to the villages by the girls and boys who participate. Many of our participants had never left their village before; many had never had the opportunity to challenge their beliefs, traditions, and superstitions; many had never realized how powerful their voice and opinions could be. Your support this year helped us change that.
We asked each of the girls to write a “We GLOW because…” statement on poster paper for you. The statements are difficult to make out in the photos, but that’s what I’m here for. 
I’ll leave your lasting impression of Camp GLOW with theirs…
“I GLOW because I get more experience.”
“… because we are more confident.”
“…because I can get a higher education.”
“… because we have more knowledge about our bodies.”
“… because I know how to find a good job.”
“…because we will become leaders.”
