We wrapped up the activities’ part of the day with a presentation on volunteerism and a session about the woman’s body (in which the boys were kicked out) and the girls were able to ask any questions they wanted.
The session on volunteering talked about volunteering in Cambodia and how it contributes towards small-scale development. The presenter came from Youth Star, an NGO that puts Khmer volunteers in touch with rural Cambodian villages.
Putting together ideas about volunteerism.
The girls were asked to list their ideas about volunteering and how it could impact their community when they return to the village. One of the groups presenting on volunteering and how putting ideas into actions can make a difference.
The boys weren’t allowed in for this session. Sam Weiss was good enough to provide this photo, though. Jen Zelnick, a Luce Fellow, conducted the session about women and their bodies. I think the photo explains the session pretty well.
And then came the shirts. The shirts arrived this afternoon.
Diana Broberg, Mark Douple, and Sam Weiss separating the shirts for the girls.
More photos with the new shirts.
We just finished the last bits of the camp, but the rest is a bit much to include in this post. Check back in a few hours!
